Utility Rates & Charges : Utilities Infrastructure Master Plan and Rate Studies
The Water and Wastewater Master Plan existing conditions and infrastructure in the District. Utility rate studies are completed by an independent consultant and assist the District in determining rates to support improved service levels. Three utility rate studies that were recently commissioned and completed by the BCMUD Board of Directors are the Drought Rate Study, the Water and Wastewater Rate Study, and the Stormwater Rate Study. 1. Water and Wastewater Master Plan: This plan was developed for the District in close collaboration with BCMUD staff with the goal of:
- Performing evaluations on the Water Treatment Facility (WTF), groundwater well, raw water intake, and distribution facilities;
- Evaluating the feasibility of an emergency interconnect between BCMUD and the City of Round Rock (CORR); and
- Performing a wastewater collection system capacity and condition assessment.
2. Drought Rate Study: This study was commissioned to help design surcharges that will recover lost revenues for the District under various drought stage restrictions.
3. Stormwater Rate Study: This study was commissioned to review the potential for stormwater billing based on the District’s impervious cover area and provide rate options.
4. Water and Wastewater Rate Study: This study was commissioned to analyze the District's water and wastewater utilities to make suggestions on rates.
