3/7/2025 - NOTICE: Throwing any waste into District property is strictly prohibited
Dear Brushy Creek residents,
Over the last year, the District has been conducting a wildfire mitigation strategy called shaded fuel breaks, which creates defensible spaces. Essentially, crews are thinning out dense areas of undergrowth and saplings which create fuel for wildfire and put District residents at risk.
As this process continues throughout the District, crews have noticed some residents are throwing green waste over their fences into the areas being cleared. We would like to remind residents that the green spaces behind homes are District property, and dumping any waste material in these areas is prohibited.
As green waste piles up, wildlife such as snakes and rats are encouraged to populate these areas. Additionally, and more importantly, the risk of wildfire increases, negating Districtwide efforts.
