1/10/2024 - Tree assessment for planting plan

Dear Brushy Creek residents:

You may have noticed trees with pink ribbons and numbered tags attached to the middle of their trunks located on the Great Oaks Drive median and at Cat Hollow Park.

Some of our residents have expressed concern that these trees are going to be cut down.

We want to assure you that these marked trees are part of an ongoing assessment, scheduled to conclude in the next few months, to provide an overall inventory. Further, this assessment identifies the condition of each tree.

The main point of this project is to create a planting plan that will help us improve the tree canopy in the area. Some trees could be removed, but only if they are assessed to be in poor health beyond rehabilitation.

If you have any further questions, please email Angela Niemiec at a.niemiec@bcmud.com.
