5/27/2010 - District receives award ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

State Representative Diana Maldonado recently congratulated the Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District after being informed by Comptroller Susan Combs it has received a Leadership award from the State Comptroller’s office.

The District has earned a GOLD Leadership Circle Award which is given to public agencies that make information available to the public on its website. The Gold award is the highest award given by the Comptroller and according to the Comptroller’s website, only two Special Districts have received the award statewide. The award signifies public agencies attempts to be transparent and provide information to the public it serves and especially for those that are setting the bar by sharing information with the public. The District received 12 of 15 points from the scoring criteria that includes posting the budget, financial reports, using creative charts and graphs, etc.,., on its website.
