Dear Brushy Creek MUD Residents,

We’re excited to highlight one of our most dynamic youth programs—our climbing class at the Brushy Creek Community Center located at 16318 Great Oaks Drive, Round Rock. Open to ages 6–12, this weekly class introduces kids to climbing basics, safety, and fun group challenges on our fantastic indoor climbing wall.

Climbing offers a unique blend of physical and mental benefits that go far beyond a typical workout:

• Strengthens major muscle groups,
• Improves balance and coordination,
• Builds endurance
• Enhances grip strength, lower-body power, and overall fitness

Just as importantly, climbing boosts focus, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Choosing routes, planning movements, and overcoming obstacles provide meaningful mental engagement. Many researchers also note the stress-relief and mood-boosting effects climbing offers for children and adults alike.

Brushy Creek is fortunate to have a dedicated climbing wall right inside the Community Center gymnasium. It’s a safe, structured environment where certified instructors teach technique, safety, and teamwork through games and guided challenges. Kids gain confidence while staying active—often without realizing how much they’re exercising.
