Adult Programs : Longhorn Cavern

Longhorn Cavern & Falls on the Colorado Group Trip

Let’s get out of the Texas heat and go underground for a tour of Longhorn Cavern, an underground wonder created by the dissolving and cutting action of an ancient river. Learn about the history and geology of Longhorn Cavern on a 90 minute guided walking tour of the cavern’s 1.1 miles of developed passages. Cost of Cavern tour is $18. If you’d rather not go on the Cavern tour, you are welcome to walk the trails in the park. They range in difficulty from very easy to moderate (a few medium boulders to step over) and have no climbing. The longest trail loop is a 30-40-minute walk while 2 other loops take 15-25 minutes.

After we tour the cavern, we will go to Marble Falls and enjoy a lunch at the iconic Bluebonnet Café. This Café is known for their delicious homemade pies, so save room for dessert! Before we head back to Round Rock, we’ll make a stop at the Falls on the Colorado Museum in Marble Falls and learn about the blinded soldier who founded the town. This small museum proudly displays artifacts from prehistoric era to modern relevant events of today. During July there will also be a temporary exhibit showing the history of the Chisholm Trail.
