Brushy Creek 4th and 5th Grade Luau Parent Q&A

Programs staff will check the 4th & 5th graders using a checklist from our registration system. We are asking that an adult signs each child in and out. If someone other than the person who dropped off is picking up, we ask that you list that information at sign-in.

Q: What should my child wear?
A: All of the activities involve water, and are pretty athletic, so they should come prepared in their bathing suit. If a girls bathing suit shows their midriff, they must wear a shirt over it. Guys MUST wear shorts length bathing suits or shorts. They must also wear a shirt at all times. It is also wise to send your child in flip flops or water shoes with a towel. Some parents may even want to pick them up with an extra towel in the car or a change of clothes as they will be soaked when you come to get them.

Q: What food will be served?
A: There will be sodas, punch, cookies, chips, and other snack-type foods. This means there will be plenty to eat, but not food to qualify as a meal. Dinner is not provided. Also, not all food is vegetarian friendly but we make sure to have some options for vegetarians. If your child has an allergy, please let the sign-in staff person know so that we can make any necessary accommodations.

Q: Can we register at the door?
A: We do not recommend due to the popularity of these events. We only have 100 spaces available, and once they are filled anyone else will be turned away. Only cash or check will be accepted at the door. We cannot guarantee there will be any availability, so the earlier you register, the better! Don't wait!

Q: What activities will be going on?
A: There will be food, music, water slides and water games.

Q: Are parents allowed? Do you need volunteers/chaperones? How old are the chaperones?
A: We request that parents leave their children at the door and only enter the event if they need to so that we can reduce congestion. There will be multiple counselors at this event serving as chaperones which maintain a 1 to 15 ratio.  All counselors are at least 16 years old and are the same counselors that work with our day camp and Afterschool Program.
